In-room wellness

In-room wellness programs for independent hotels

What an in-room wellness program includes, what it actually asks of housekeeping and the front desk, and how independent operators price it as a rate lift instead of a subscription.

Why wellness moved into the guest room

Most hotel wellness still lives outside the room: a gym, a spa menu, a partner studio down the street. Those require space, staff, and a guest willing to leave the room and book a time slot. The majority never do.

In-room wellness inverts that. The experience is already in the room when the guest arrives, available at 11pm when they actually want it, and it works the same whether the property has ten rooms or two hundred.

What Sonno puts in the room

Sonno offers two configurations, and a suite that combines them.

  • —In-Room Sleep Experience — a curated device package on a stand, with guidance on the in-room tablet
  • —Sonno Grab & Go — retail-ready wellness items guests can take with them, restocked through the portal
  • —Complete Sonno Wellness Suite — both, deployed together across the rooms you choose

What it asks of your team

The operational footprint is intentionally small. Housekeeping wipes the devices down during the normal turn. Reorders and replacements are flagged automatically through the Sonno portal, so nobody tracks inventory by hand. If a guest takes or breaks a device, a replacement is requested in the portal — no forms, no supplier chase.

We train your team once before go-live so the front desk is never caught off guard, and after that the program largely runs itself.

How operators price it

In-room wellness is priced as a nightly rate lift on the rooms that carry it. You choose the lift, you can change it any time, and you keep the amenity once it is paid off. Most operators land in a similar range — the calculator on our homepage shows what that looks like against your own room count and occupancy.

Common questions

What is an in-room wellness program?

It is a set of recovery and sleep devices placed permanently in the guest room, paired with in-room guidance so guests can use them on their own. Unlike a spa, it does not require staff time, appointments, or extra square footage.

Does the front desk have to explain the devices?

No. Every device comes with guidance right on the in-room tablet — video, photo, and written — so most guests figure it out themselves. We train your team once before go-live for the occasional question.

What does it add to housekeeping?

Almost nothing. Devices get wiped down and set back on the stand as part of the normal room turn. No new checklist, no special equipment, and no manual inventory tracking.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay it off and the amenity is yours — a permanent part of the property rather than a recurring line item.
